Financial Assistance
The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce is open to all members of our community. As a charity, it is our belief and goal to ensure that our programs and services are accessible to everyone, no matter what their financial circumstances.
YMCA Membership Assistance Program
Individuals and families may apply for financial assistance in order to participate in Family Y programs and services that they could otherwise not afford. The program is available to people of all ages.
How to Apply
- Complete the financial information portion of the YMCA Membership Fee Assistance Brochure. Brochures are available online or at the YMCA Membership Services Desk.
- Return the completed information to the YMCA Membership Services Desk with two consecutive pay income stubs or other income statements
- A YMCA Membership Services Representative will contact you and set up an appointment if necessary
- Once the membership amount is approved and agreed upon, you must bring in the initial payment and a void cheque to start your membership
Grey National Child Benefit (NCB) Reinvestment Program
Eligibility
- Reside in Grey County
- Family earnings of less than $40,000.00
- Have children under the age of 18 residing with you on a regular basis
Through the NCB program, eligible candidates may request subsidy for Recreation or the Good Food Box program.
NCB Recreation Subsidy
Depending on available funds and gross family income, the recreation subsidy will range from $150 per child per calendar year to $300 per child per calendar year. Subsidy is for a child’s registration fees for sports programs, swimming, music lessons, etc. Applicants may also be reimbursed for equipment or supplies as part of the maximum subsidy available when receipts are submitted.
Applicants are required to contribute at least 10% (but no less than $10) of each child’s registration fee or equipment cost.
Complete the application form and return to the NCB Coordinator at the YMCA Membership Services Desk.
NCB Good Food Box Subsidy
The Good Food Box subsidy is open to the whole community and provides eligible applicants with a $5.00 monthly subsidy on the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables, once a month, for six months. The program is throughout Grey County and includes pick up locations in:
- Owen Sound
- Meaford
- Flesherton
- Hanover
- Durham
- Markdale
- Dundalk
Complete the application form and return to the NCB Coordinator at the YMCA Membership Services Desk.
