School Age Program

The YMCA School Age Program is a licensed child care program that offers children ages 4 to 12 a fun and safe way to begin and end every school day.

We know children thrive in an environment where everyone belongs and can explore, learn and have fun together. That’s what you’ll find at your YMCA child care program.

Your YMCA offers School Age programs at participating Bluewater District School Board and Bruce-Grey Catholic Schools for children in Junior Kindergarten (JK) to Grade 6. YMCA A Place to Connect™ Curriculum

YMCA research shows that children flourish in programs that are structured to let them shape their experience by providing opportunities for choice and leadership with a focus on strengths and the development of skills and relationships. This knowledge is how our curriculum was born. Staff receive comprehensive, on-going training that supports their existing knowledge and experience, and this training helps YMCAs across Canada to provide high-quality and consistent programs.
