Welcome
The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce Child Care program provides parents with a variety of options for children from 18 months to 12 years.
Child Care Philosophy
Using the foundations of early childhood education and development, staff in the YMCA Child Care programs foster a child's growth and development along with a desire to explore and learn. The national YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum model allows staff to build upon and plan for activities that will inspire a child to explore their interests in in-depth ways. Fostering a child's sense of discovery, research and problem solving enables them to explore and learn in new and different ways.
Our goal is to encourage your child to become a lifelong learner. For millions of children, child care is where they will learn to get along with others. It is where they will learn to socialize, share and play and it is where they will form friendships, grow and develop. The quality of this setting cannot be overvalued. It will significantly impact your child's development and well-being, their educational opportunities, even their future career.

Staff
The staff within the YMCA Child Care programs are qualified Early Childhood Educators (ECE's) registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators. The staff are caring professionals dedicated to working with parents toward a common goal: the best development of your child.
Parents
The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce believes that child care must be shared between parents, caregivers and the child care staff. Many opportunities are provided to ensure effective communication between parents and staff through interviews, group meetings and workshops. Parents are encouraged to visit the programs at any time.
