Effective January 4, 2022, the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce will be requiring all members and visitors 12 years of age and older to present their government-issued QR Code for electronic verification of full vaccination status to enter our facility. This is in response to reports that fake paper vaccination passports are being used by unvaccinated individuals to access facilities requiring proof of vaccination. We do not have reason to believe any of our members or visitors would do something like this given our shared values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, however, in the best interest of our staff, members, and community, we will be re-checking vaccination status electronically through QR codes and the government portal.  

We ask that members and visitors be patient as we continue to do our best to provide a safe and healthy environment.

Membership cards will be validated with a “Meets Entrance Requirements” tag upon electronic verification through the government portal.

As a reminder:  Masks are required by all individuals 2 years of age and older when in our facility and not engaging in physical activity. Individuals that are unable to mask and require accommodation in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code are required to contact our Customer Service team at support@osgb.ymca.ca to discuss accommodation before attending the facility.
