As a charity igniting the potential in people, we are seeking a Youth Program Leader to be responsible for the planning, preparation and direct facilitation of youth skill-based or recreation-based programs.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Supervision and Safety:<\/strong>\n
      \n
    • Acts as a role model for safety and always takes responsibility for the supervision and security of all participants in your care.<\/li>\n
    • Participates in swim and helps enforce pool rules and ratios.<\/li>\n
    • Follows emergency procedures, including first aid and CPR.<\/li>\n
    • Supervises camper groups on offsite excursions and performs frequent roll calls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
        \n
      1. Programming:<\/strong>\n
          \n
        • Plans, organizes and facilitates Youth and Recreation program activities, considering age-appropriate and engaging options.<\/li>\n
        • Fosters a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and teamwork.<\/li>\n
        • Builds positive relationships with participants, creating a supportive and trusting environment.<\/li>\n
        • Addresses and resolves conflicts among participants, promoting effective communication and conflict resolution skills.<\/li>\n
        • Serves as a positive role model by demonstrating enthusiasm, responsibility, and respect.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
            \n
          1. Communication:<\/strong>\n
              \n
            • Communicates effectively with participants, parents, fellow staff members, and volunteers.<\/li>\n
            • Maintains an accurate program attendance record as per Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy<\/li>\n
            • Passes along questions or concerns regarding specific participants or programs to supervisor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Job Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                \n
              • You are legally entitled to work in Canada.<\/li>\n
              • Have Standard First Aid and CPR Level-C\/AED certification.<\/li>\n
              • Possess a minimum of Grade 10 High School<\/li>\n
              • Have the ability to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.<\/li>\n
              • Are experienced working with children 0 – 12 years of age.<\/li>\n
              • Experience working with special needs children an asset but not a requirement.<\/li>\n
              • If you are 18 years of age or older, a Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Checks upon hire is required.<\/li>\n
              • We are also looking for 3 professional or character references.<\/li>\n
              • You offer flexibility regarding assigned hours of work.<\/li>\n
              • You have the ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
