Brockton is a wonderful place to live, work and play!<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Position:<\/strong><br \/>This position is responsible for effective management of the Landfill operations during normal operating days and to provide a variety of maintenance, grounds keeping and routine inspection services for the safety and convenience of the public.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enters information to operate the landfill scale program, including vehicle license plate, weigh in, weigh out, category, source to determine applicable charges.<\/li>\n<li>Accepts payment for gate fees by cash, cheque or on preauthorized account.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for balancing cash receipts and delivering payment to the bank daily.<\/li>\n<li>Processes chargeable accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Arranges for any non-scheduled collection of the MTO building and Greenock\/Brant Landfill.<\/li>\n<li>Develop work schedule for Greenock and Brant Landfill.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain proper and correct records as required.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures the Clear Bag program is adhered too.<\/li>\n<li>Promote recycling at the Landfill sites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications\/Knowledge\/Skills Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be available to work Saturdays.<\/li>\n<li>Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 1-3 years related experience in waste management facility operations and maintenance is considered an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in weigh scale operations and cash management is considered an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Annual Report-Landfill Development Operation and Monitoring as prepared by the Municipal Engineers is considered an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the Certificate of Approval for the Landfill is considered an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of legislation and best practices as it relates to the operation of a waste management facility operations.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with limited supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent Communication (written, oral and interpersonal) skills.<\/li>\n<li>Superior Customer Service skills.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations and W.H.M.I.S.<\/li>\n<li>Possess or willing to obtain a valid First Aid\/CPR\/AED Certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Possess a valid Class &ldquo;G&rdquo; Driver&rsquo;s License in good standing with the ability to use own vehicle to transport around the job site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A copy of the job task list is available by visiting www.brockton.ca\/careers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Landfill Hours (Hours could be subject to change):<\/strong><br \/>April 1st to October 31st<br \/>Tuesdays and Wednesdays &#8211; 9:00 a.m. &#8211; 3:00 p.m.<br \/>Saturdays &#8211; 8:00 a.m. &#8211; 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>November 1st to March 31st<br \/>Wednesdays &#8211; 9:00 a.m. &#8211; 3:00 p.m.<br \/>Saturdays &#8211; 8:00 a.m. &#8211; 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What we offer you:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rate of pay between $25.77 &#8211; $30.14 depending on qualifications and experience.<\/li>\n<li>Work week is Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays based on above hours, 16-20 hours per week.<\/li>\n<li>Eligible for enrolment in OMERS pension plan.<\/li>\n<li>Development opportunities though training or continuous learning.<\/li>\n<li>Access to Employee Family Assistance Plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Vacancy:<\/strong><br \/>This posting is for an existing role within our organization.
