The coordinator will provide technical advice as it relates to everyone&rsquo;s safety, health and safety legislation, reporting requirements and best practices. This position will also assist in designing and implementing evidence-based and innovative health and wellness approaches that enhance staff wellness, engagement and attendance<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma in Emergency Management, Human Resources, Business Administration or directly related field and three (3) years&rsquo; experience in a health and safety related role<\/li>\n<li>Two (2) years&rsquo; supervisory including coaching\/mentoring or delivering training to groups<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in a First Nation and or Indigenous community and or organization<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of federal and provincial acts, codes, regulations and legislation that pertains to health and safety and human resources including, but not limited to Occupational Health and Safety, Human Rights, Canadian Labour Code, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Skilled in developing, revising and implementing policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated abilities in facilitating and\/or providing training, conducting investigations, writing reports, information management systems, and conflict resolution<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials\/practices and emergency management<\/li>\n<li>Experience with disability claims, return to work plans, WSIB or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Joint Health and Safety Committee experience would be considered an asset<\/li>\n<li>Skilled with office equipment, computers and various software including Microsoft Office ie. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Valid Class G Driver&rsquo;s Licence<\/li>\n<li>Acceptable recent Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check<\/li>\n<li>CPR First Aid or ability to obtain within probationary period<\/li>\n<li>Assets include: Professional designation in Occupational Health and Safety i.e. Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Project Management Professionals of Canada or similar would be considered an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience may be considered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit cover letter &ndash; must address the qualifications outlined with resume.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drop off or mail to<\/strong>: Administration Office, Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, 135 Lakeshore Blvd. Neyaashiinigmiing, Ontario, N0H 2T0.
