Work as a family support worker as per Ontario Works guidelines.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>KEY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Family Support Worker<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work intensively with sole support and temporary care clients regarding support payments according to legislative guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients with receiving both formal and informal support arrangements.<\/li>\n<li>Refer clients to legal services to ensure their pursuit of support.<\/li>\n<li>Must be willing to take additional training on Family Support Work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>National Child Benefit Initiative <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in preparation of proposal and wrap-up reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with verification of attendance.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with NCBS reporting and assist with tracking and RAY program submissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Case Management <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct basic budgeting requirements of Ontario Works for clients<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the verification of eligibility<\/li>\n<li>Assist with placing clients in participation agreements.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with employment placements of clients.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct home visits on request.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain current accurate records and files on sole support clients and temporary care cases and assist clients with fulfilling their Ontario Works requirements, including identifying community resources that will support clients.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure updates are conducted regularly and as per legislative requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with month-end budgeting of caseload.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct case conferences and meetings when requested.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>REQUIREMENTS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Social Services Diploma through an accredited college or university or Grade 12 Or Grade 12 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years experience in Social Services or Administration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Designations, Licences &amp; Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be willing to take Family Support Worker training providing by the Ministry, and other training as required.<\/li>\n<li>Ready access to a reliable vehicle and valid Ontario Driver&rsquo;s License an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Training and Certification in WHMIS, Occupational Health &amp; Safety Awareness, Workplace Violence &amp; Harassment Training, COVID-19 Health &amp; Safety, Health &amp; Safety Overview<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Functional in word-processing; spreadsheet applications<\/li>\n<li>Ability to budget, calculate, balance, and maintain accurate monthly financial reports and statement that are client based.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read, understand, interpret and transfer knowledge regarding the Ontario Works Act and associate manuals and legislation.<\/li>\n<li>Good oral and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Highly developed interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>High degree of objectivity<\/li>\n<li>Stress management skills (personal and external).<\/li>\n<li>Organizational and time management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of and ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit cover letter and resume that clearly highlight how your experience and qualifications align with the requirements of the position.
