You must possess expertise of all food and beverage offerings within the establishment. You will be expected to present yourself in a professional manner, reflecting the upscale environment of your workplace. Special attention should be paid to providing an exceptional customer experience during all steps of service as well as maintaining a team atmosphere with your peers on both the service and culinary teams to achieve your common goal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Leadership &amp; Team Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead front of house staff during assigned shifts<\/li>\n<li>Provide direction, coaching, and support to servers, hosts, and bartenders<\/li>\n<li>Ensure staff follow service standards, policies, and safety procedures<\/li>\n<li>Assist with training new team members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Guest Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain a welcoming, professional atmosphere throughout all food and beverage outlets<\/li>\n<li>Address guest concerns promptly and effectively<\/li>\n<li>Support staff in delivering exceptional service during busy periods<\/li>\n<li>Monitor table flow and guest satisfaction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Operational Oversight<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee opening and closing procedures<\/li>\n<li>Manage shift checklists and ensure all tasks are completed<\/li>\n<li>Monitor cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all service areas<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and timing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Administrative &amp; Cash Handling<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Handle cash\u2011outs, balance tills, and complete shift reports<\/li>\n<li>Process voids, discounts, and adjustments according to policy<\/li>\n<li>Assist with inventory counts and restocking as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Problem Solving &amp; Decision Making<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resolve service issues, staff conflicts, or operational challenges<\/li>\n<li>Make real\u2011time decisions to maintain service flow and guest satisfaction<\/li>\n<li>Step into any role (host, server, runner) when required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Health &amp; Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure compliance with food safety, alcohol service laws, and workplace safety standards<\/li>\n<li>Monitor staff adherence to hygiene and sanitation protocols<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn all details of menu and anticipate questions that may be asked<\/li>\n<li>Learn wine &amp; cocktail lists<\/li>\n<li>Follow all steps of service<\/li>\n<li>Develop and grow relationships with members<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a clean &amp; tidy workplace<\/li>\n<li>Support F&amp;B Manager in daily tasks<\/li>\n<li>Bartending &ndash; understanding of cocktail list &amp; popular cocktails<\/li>\n<li>Ability to recommend menu items; having knowledge of flavours and composition<\/li>\n<li>Ability to recommend wines &amp; cocktails; understanding flavour profiles<\/li>\n<li>Assist with monthly inventory and ordering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Smart Serve Certification<\/li>\n<li>1-3 years serving experience<\/li>\n<li>Food and wine knowledge an asset<\/li>\n<li>1 year of supervisory experience in a restaurant setting<\/li>\n<li>Experience with OpenTable &amp; Jonas software an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This position requires you to be available anytime the restaurant is open. This includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Banquets and special occasions.
