{"id":6019,"date":"2026-03-23T11:56:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T15:56:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ymcaowensound.on.ca\/jobboard\/job\/child-and-youth-worker-live-in-treatment-susd-program\/"},"modified":"2026-03-23T11:56:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T15:56:10","slug":"child-and-youth-worker-live-in-treatment-susd-program","status":"publish","type":"job_listing_board","link":"https:\/\/www.ymcaowensound.on.ca\/jobboard\/job\/child-and-youth-worker-live-in-treatment-susd-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Child and Youth Worker Live In Treatment SUSD Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>General Accountability:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide supervision and treatment for the youth admitted to the Live-In-Treatment program.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the Live-In-Treatment program for the youth.<\/li>\n<li>As part of a clinical team, provides therapy\/counselling, casework, group work, advocacy, consultation, education and\/or community development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Direct Care and Support:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise and engage with children and youth during daily activities.<\/li>\n<li>Provide emotional support and guidance to help clients address personal challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Actively participate in case management and treatment teams for Live-In Treatment clients.<\/li>\n<li>Assess family, school, and community dynamics affecting client functioning from a Child and Youth Care perspective<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the treatment team to promote acceptable behavior and maintain a therapeutic environment.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver therapeutic programming to youth, families, and treatment groups.<\/li>\n<li>Foster strong connections with youth and their families.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to a safe and therapeutic living environment.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and participate in special events and recreational activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Individualized Care Planning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain clinical records and statistics according to agency standards.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with treatment plans and agency philosophy.<\/li>\n<li>Work with youth to build therapeutic relationships and achieve treatment goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Crisis Intervention:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and respond to crises or behavioral issues using de-escalation techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Manage crisis situations with appropriate strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Implement emergency procedures to ensure client safety.<\/li>\n<li>Design and implement crisis safety plans with youth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skill Development<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate treatment groups, life skills training, and recreational activities to support goal attainment.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage positive behaviors and reinforce coping strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Provide close support to youth in Live-In Treatment, focusing on recovery and competence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Family Engagement<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate regularly with families about client progress and involve them in the care process.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct family psychoeducation to strengthen family dynamics.<\/li>\n<li>Assist families in developing positive attachments with youth.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate training in parenting skills as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Documentation and Reporting<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare reports and summaries for team meetings and treatment reviews.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Collaboration<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with therapists, social workers, and other professionals to ensure quality care.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate effectively with program staff, clinicians, community partners, and families.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and strategies, providing quality input based on a professional Child and Youth Care perspective.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Community Integration<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate outings and activities that promote social integration and community involvement.<\/li>\n<li>Build partnerships with local organizations to enhance resources for clients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Duties<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Internal and\/or external committee membership.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the management of the wait list through in-depth risk assessment (CSSRS), safety<\/li>\n<li>planning, and check-ins.<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at staff meetings and professional development.<\/li>\n<li>Draws on internal and external resources as required.<\/li>\n<li>Complete community presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Assume additional responsibilities as necessary<\/li>\n<li>Minimum Qualifications:<br \/>&bull; Child &amp; Youth Care Diploma.
