Job Description

The Water Program is currently looking for two (2) eager individuals interested in a career as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. This opportunity is a paid training contract up to 14 months in length where you will be provided education and hands on training. In this position you would report to the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor and would find yourself learning the duties and responsibilities of Water Treatment Plant Operators and performing tasks that are within your abilities and scope.

Qualifications

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Operator in Training or ability to obtain
  • Experience in building construction/maintenance or related trade
  • Experience or proven knowledge and understanding of First Nation communities
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of water treatment plants and infrastructure
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and legislation as it pertains to water treatment
  • Effective written and communication skills for documentation and customer service
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and access to reliable vehicle

Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience may be considered
