We are looking for a summer student to help with seasonal maintenance on our 25 acre rural property. This position includes:
The anticipated duration of this position is 8 weeks with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities
1. Grass cutting and lawn and flower bed maintenance
2. Maintains roadways and walkways including weed control and litter pick-up
3. Paints walls, floors, woodwork, and fixtures, using appropriate materials and tools
4. Assists in formulating and implementing a preventative maintenance plan for all building systems and equipment, including vehicles.
5. Plumbing duties such as repairs/replacing sinks, toilets, broken water/wastewater lines
6. Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, adjusts, repairs and/or performs preventative maintenance on vehicles, equipment, or machinery
7. Responsible for the general maintenance of the Resident’s wheelchairs and ceiling lifts
8. Inspection and maintenance of the pool and associated areas in accordance with Public Health regulations
9. Replace wiring, switches, receptacles, cover plates, lighting, and other light electrical repairs. Install/repair low voltage wiring, telephone and ethernet lines. Maintains operation of satellite services.
10. Move and arrange furniture and equipment and set up rooms for conferences, meetings and new residents
11. Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities
12. Understand and perform duties aligning with organizational mission and values.

Qualifications:
Must be a student returning to school at the end of summer. Must be comfortable with safe operation of a variety of power tools and equipment including zero turn mower, Kubota tractor, etc.
Must be able to perform vigorous physical tasks in all summer weather conditions.
Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid G licence.
