Job Description

SEASONAL POSITION: April to December 2024, 2025,2026

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for:

  • Operating and maintaining saw.
  • Cutting material as shown on work order and directed by Supervisor.
  • Cutting material with accuracy and ensuring correct measurements.
  • Working as a team to optimize production.
  • Adhering to safe work practices in accordance with company policies and the OHSA.
  • Keeping work area clean of debris.
  • Operating diamond belt saws.
  • Respecting standard procedures and methodology during the handling of the equipment and supplies.
  • Providing daily accurate data for the distance and depth of accomplished cuts during the shift.
  • Maximizing the recovery.
  • Maintaining and checking equipment daily.
  • Follow safe work procedures.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk on uneven ground daily. You may be required to climb ladders, bend over, kneel and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move a load of approximately 20-30 lbs. Larger loads will be assisted mechanically or with the help of another employee.

WORK ENVIRONEMENT

In the course of their duties, employees are exposed daily to outside weather conditions and moving mechanical parts and equipment. You need to be comfortable working at heights to move around on top of the quarry walls. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Safe work procedures are in place and personal protective equipment is provided when required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • You are punctual, versatile, and rigorous.
  • Ideally 1 year of experience in a similar environment.
  • Spoken and written language requested: English.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Employment status: 9-month seasonal, April to December, full-time. Contract for 3 years
  • Work schedule: 44 hours per week
  • Day shift:

Monday to Thursday: 07h00 AM to 04h30 PM

Friday: 07h00 AM to 03h30 PM

  • Salary: 20,00$ to 23,00$ / hour
  • Non-union position
