Skating Patrols

Turn one of your favourite pastimes into a part-time job! The City of Owen Sound is seeking energetic
individuals to serve as skating patrols for Public Skating events. The ideal candidate(s) will be at least 14 years of age and have above-average skating skills. The position also requires accepting payments and handling cash. Public Skating takes place at the Bayshore Community Centre and Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre. Most shifts will be on Sunday afternoons for 3 hours.
Requirements:
- Must have the ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with the general public and staff;
- Must be a minimum of 14 years of age;
- Must be able to skate competently;
- Be able to work with little or no supervision;
- Must be able to exercise good judgment and deal tactfully with the public;
- Be able to manage money transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Be presentable in appearance at all times while on duty in uniform provided;
- Arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled skating time.
- Enforce skating rules promptly and tactfully.
- Shall perform other duties as assigned.
- Wear a CSA-approved helmet at all times while on an ice surface.
Salary Range: $17.20 hourly
