Job purpose
As Second Cook at Cobble Beach you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food for both a la carte service and/or banquet services. You must present yourself in a professional manner always. As a first cook, it is your job to pay very close attention to detail and provide our customers with exceptional quality food and presentation.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for proper preparation and presentation of menu items as set out by the executive chef and sous chefs
- Keep a clean, organized and sanitary work environment
- Demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting coworkers as needed
- Responsible for restocking items as needed
- Communicate any product shortages
- Responsible for keeping management notified of any equipment issues
- Minimizes safety hazards by following all health and safety procedures
- Communicates effectively and positively with the front of house and culinary team
- Ensures guest satisfaction by proper preparation of menu items and features
- Follows all kitchen procedures to ensure a smooth-running operation
Qualifications
- Safe food handling certificate
- Previous kitchen experience an asset
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Culinary Program ie: George Brown, Georgian College, OYAP is an asset

- Able to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift 50lb
