Our client, Durham Furniture, is looking for a Sander & Stainer to assist at their production facility located in the Town of Durham, ON. This role is a full-time role that could be a permanent fit for the right individual. Dayshift only from Monday to Thursday with Fridays off and no weekends required. Wage starts at $18.86 per hour.

About The Role
The Sander & Stainer role assists the assembly team with finishing various furniture parts including drawers, bedrails, frames, and mirror assemblies. Assembled products range in intricacy, size and weight, and are often required to be transported to and from the sanding area. The use of various hand tools including hand sanders, staining guns, air powered staple guns and gluing machines is required. Additional tasks may include:
- Lifting/Sliding Furniture Pieces in Order to Sand/Stain Materials
- Flipping & Handling Materials to Inspect Quality
- Standing for Long Periods of Time
- Using Team & Hook Lifts for Materials Above 325 Lbs.
- Working in an Indoor Environment with Wood Dust
- Using Small Hand Tools (e.g. Hand Sander) to Finish Products
- Other Tasks as Assigned
Requirements
- Experience in Carpentry or Woodworking Considered an Asset
- Understand & Follow Basic Directions
- Experience Using Small Electric Hand Tools
- Able to Perform Range of Repetitive Motions (Bending, Twisting, Etc.)
- Handle Weight Up to 50 lbs. Individually
- Able to Stand for Extended Periods
- CSA Approved Footwear Required (All Other PPE Provided)
This role would be a great fit for anyone with production, assembly, material handling, factory, construction, general labour, carpentry, warehouse or woodworking experience.
