Our client, a well-established plumbing & heating company based in Owen Sound, ON, is currently looking for a Preventative Maintenance Technician to assist at their busy Owen Sound location. This is a full-service position working with both commercial and residential clients to perform a variety of tasks including general repairs, maintenance, and installation. This is a permanent, full-time role with a salary range between $21 – $27 per hour based on experience.

About The Role
The successful candidate will have experience working on HVAC systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings. Be confident and comfortable with their skill level regarding inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and cleaning HVAC systems, providing recommendations and communications with internal and external stakeholders, safe handling and transportation of dangerous materials, recommendations, statements of account and worksheets. Duties may include:
- Receiving & Processing Service Calls
- Assessing HVAC Systems & Equipment to Ensure Safe Operating Conditions
- Reading & Interpreting Error Codes & Completing Diagnostic Worksheets
- Completing Final Testing & Providing Recommendations Upon Completion of Services
- Preparing Accurate PTU Reports & Time Sheets in Timely Manner
- Reviewing with Customer All Prepared Work Orders, Reports, & Recommendations
- Preparing Statements & Collecting Signatures & Payment for Services Rendered
- Working Independently in Safe Manner
- Other Duties as Assigned
Requirements
- Grade 12 or Equivalent Experience
- College of Trades Membership, Current
- Standard Safety Equipment
- G3 Gas (required), G2 Gas (preferred)
- Back Flow Certification (preferred)
- Valid G Drivers Licence, Clean Driving Record & Insured
- First Aid, CPR, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Ozone Depletion Prevention & WHIMIS (asset)
You may be a great fit for this position if you have previous experience in heating, refrigeration and air conditioning installations, food wholesalers and distribution, engineering firms and retail and servicing establishments or as a Transport refrigeration mechanics apprentice.
