Bellwyck are looking for a Press Feeder rotational shift: Day Shift: Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:00pm, Afternoon Shift: Sunday to Thursday 3:30pm to 12:00am, Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday 11:30pm to 8:00am
- Permanent full time position
- $18.50 + 15% premium on afternoon shift
- 8 hour shift

RESPONSIBILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH PERFORMING THE JOB:
- In accordance with the docket, verifies the stock (i.e. size, caliper, substrate, quantity) as well the ink to be used for a job run.
- Assists the Press Operator with machine settings for the feeder and delivery ends of the press, i.e. setting up side lay, grippers, in feed wheels, joggers, feeder suction head, etc.).
- Loads the feed end of the printing press with stock making necessary adjustments for sheet size.
- Monitors the feeding of sheets into the printing press adjusting feed and tension controls, ensuring a continuous and smooth flow of sheets into the press.
- Monitors ink levels during the running of the press.
- Assists the Press Operator with the monitoring of the job according to quality requirements and docket specifications identifying defects such as blanket smashes, scratches, etc.
- Completes production documentation and enters data into AMTECH.
- Assists with Make Ready and Changeover activities such as: checking the schedule for the next job reviewing docket instructions; locating blankets and plates and securing to the printing units; changing plates and blankets; filling water and solvent tanks; mixing primer; topping-up and exchanging coating drums; filling ink fountains, writing customer and PO information on material sheets; destroying plates; cleaning fountains; etc.
- As required, performs duties of Press Stager/Material Handler, i.e. turns stock prior to job runs using the Toppy (jogger/aerator); retrieves and stages the stock required for the print job in accordance with docket specifications; inspects stock for quality, and reports deficiencies to the Press Operator; retrieves, prepares and mixes appropriate inks according to docket requirements.
- Learns to use measuring devices such as Mics, Densitometers, Spectrometers.
- Understudies the Press Operator and upgrades skills and knowledge. Demonstrates ability and drive to become a Press Operator.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance routines.
- Responsible for keeping work area neat and orderly.
- Adheres to Quality, Standard and other operating procedures.
- Responsible for adhering to safety practices.
- Responsible for other duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Education Required:
- Core skills in Mathematics and English usually associated with high school.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a printing function, preferably in the folding carton industry and with a multi-coloured sheet-fed printing press.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with setting-up and running complex and auxiliary manufacturing equipment.
- Keen visual inspection skills to detect quality defects, colour correctness, print registration, etc. process.
- Manual dexterity required to make adjustments to machinery.
- Interpersonal skill to work co-operatively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to take direction, learn and apply.
- Experience with computers to be able to learn and use machine specific as well as custom software programs.
