Job Description

The Overnight Cleaner will be responsible for the cleaning of the Meadows Washhouse and Dining Hall throughout each week of the summer (see schedule of tasks). These spaces have basic cleaning maintenance done throughout the day by camp staff and require a daily deep clean. A deep clean is best accomplished during quiet hours (between 11pm-5am) when cleaning will be less interrupted, and mopped floors have time to dry.

Responsibilities

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday Nights (about 6 hours per night)
    • Clean all 4 Dining Hall bathrooms and Meadows bathrooms: light switches, handles, toilets, sinks, counters, spray meadows showers with foam cleaner
    • Sweep and mop bathrooms
    • Sweep and mop Dining Hall & Vestibule
  • Wednesday Night (about 6 hours per night)
    • Deep clean Kitchen: sinks, light switches, inside ovens, outside of ovens, food under stove top, food catch tray (under stovetop and grill), dishwasher area walls etc.
    • Wipe outside of freezers and fridges
    • Sweep and mop Kitchen, Dining Hall, Vestibule and Hallway

Term of Employment

The Summer Deep Cleaner is a 10-week role, from June 29-September 4, 2026. Successful candidate will be required to follow SLMC policies, including Ontario Camps Associations standards, and present a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
