Employment Type/Status: 35 hours/week, 8 weeks
The Museum Cataloguer will be responsible for researching and handling the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre’s (CWHC) cultural assets under the guidance and supervision of the curator. They will research and catalogue new and existing accessions. This includes research using digital, physical, and archival resources; photographing and digitizing items, ensuring the accuracy of existing records, cleaning historic artifacts; maintaining clean, organized standards of collection management.
Eligibility/Qualifications:
- Age 15 to 30 years old
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Weekend availability is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Researching and cataloguing artifacts and other historic objects in the museum’s collection
- Assist with managing the museum’s collection (handling, storage)
- Assist with researching and developing program and exhibits
- Interpret Museum exhibits and displays for visitors
- Provide visitor services for museum patrons
- Assist with special events, programs, and fundraising activities
- Other duties as required
