Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
The Installer is responsible for the proper and safe installation of heating
ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment. This role may involve
the supervision of Co-op students and/or apprentices.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Install new systems and/or equipment at customer locations
according to work order

Ensure a thorough and current knowledge of venting and gas codes
electrical and plumbing

Refer to furnace manuals and appliance/technical manuals when
necessary to complete job
- Correctly interpret assembly and wiring diagrams

Troubleshoot issues to ensure the system / equipment is in working
order prior to leaving the customer location

Prepare and file work orders for completed jobs accurately and on
time

Maintain Company vehicle appearance and orderliness and carry
appropriate tools and stock

Abide by all health and safety practices while on all job sites including
proper dealing with carbon dioxide and natural gas
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid Driver’s License
G2 License and current ODP card required
Licensed Refrigeration Mechanic Mechanical Technician Sheet Metal Mechanical or equivalent, preferred but willing to train
Current Ontario College of Trades membership
First Aid / CPR training, preferred but willing to train
Excellent knowledge of Gas Codes safety requirements and transportation of dangerous goods
Ability to asses safety risk factors and act accordingly
Strong communication skills with the ability to relay technical information in basic terms to customers
Strong customer services skills
Strong attention to detail
Experience
A minimum of two years directly related experience preferred
Travel
Frequent local travel to customer locations
Physical Effort
Handles medium to heavy materials on occasion 30lbs – 100lbs
Constant movement with walking standing climbing up and down stairs/ladders and kneeling/ crouching to be expected
