We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Coordinator with a positive demeanor and an upbeat “can do” energy that resonates with co-workers and internal clients. Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager of People and Culture, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing Human Resources support to the Association.

This position offers potential for advancement. Individuals with required education and experience looking to advance their Human Resources career in a supportive environment lead by individuals committed to mentoring and life-long learning are strongly encouraged to apply.

This generalist role facilitates essential HR functions, including but not limited to:

  • Creates and updates Association policies and ensures policies comply with employment legislation.
  • Provides human resources related policy, guidelines, and associated legislation clarification to Managers and Supervisors as needed.
  • Provides support to Program Leads and Employees on issues of concern and provides guidance on how to address problems through proper protocols, promoting a positive work environment.
  • Participates in the preparation and delivery of performance management practices, employee mandatory training, or other programs in support of employee development.
  • Generates HR related reports as required or requested.
  • Administers disability management, leaves of absence, and employee benefits and wellness in collaboration with the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator.
  • Builds strong, positive, and professional relationships with employees, co-workers, and third parties.

Job Requirements:

  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Checks upon hire and regularly throughout duration of employment.
  • Must have relevant formal post-secondary education in Human Resources Management (i.e., college diploma or university degree)
  • Minimum 5 years human resources experience in a generalist capacity
  • Certified Human Resources Practitioner or Certified Human Resources Leader certification an asset
  • Current membership with Human Resource Professional Association of Ontario an asset
  • Previous work experience in the non-profit sector is preferred but not required
  • Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and have regular access to a reliable vehicle and provide proof of adequate vehicle insurance.
  • Able to provide 3 professional references.
  • Flexibility regarding assigned hours of work.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet required deadlines
  • Ability to juggle multiple assignments and priorities
  • Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers; excellent written communication skills
