Job Description

Our client, an international mining equipment manufacturer, is currently seeking a Full-Time Temporary Global Logistics Specialist to assist at their office location in Thornbury, ON. This individual will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and freight partners to deliver efficient and cost-effective logistics operations. This is a full-time Temporary position from Monday to Friday with no weekends starting at $25.00 to $28.00 per hour based on experience.

About The Role

The Global Logistics Specialist manages global inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, smooth equipment transport, and cost-effective carrier coordination. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to plan freight, review technical requirements, resolve issues, and maintain visibility of all logistics activities. This role supports efficient, compliant, and timely delivery of materials and equipment worldwide. Other requirements include:

  • Preparing & Managing Customs, Regulatory, & Export/Import Documentation; Ensuring Tariff Codes are Accurate in the ERP
  • Determining Shipping Requirements for Capital Equipment & Reviewing Drawings/Models to Confirm Dimensions & Weights
  • Arranging Specialized Loading Support, Including Boom Trucks & Off-Site Loading for Large Mobile Equipment
  • Validating Freight Invoices, Managing Claims, & Maintaining Historical Freight & Bid Data
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Sales, Production, Shipping, vendors, customers, & freight Forwarders
  • Tracking Logistics Metrics & Contributing to Process Improvements
  • Protecting Confidential Information & Following Company Policies & Safety Procedures
  • Other Task as Assigned

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ Years of Experience in Logistics, Freight Coordination, or Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of Canadian/International Shipping, Customs Requirements, & Tariff codes
  • Ability to Read Technical Drawings & Understand Equipment Dimensions/Weights
  • Experience Managing Carriers, RFQs, Rate Negotiations, & Freight Claims
  • Strong Communication Skills & Ability to Work with Internal Teams, Vendors, & Customers
  • Commitment to Safety, Accuracy, Confidentiality, & Integrity

 

This role would be a great fit for a candidate with experience in Distribution Management, Inbound/Outbound Transportation, Warehousing, Shipping & Receiving, Demand Planning, & Fleet Management.
