About Us

The Meaford Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is a non-profit, registered charity dedicated to supporting the well-being of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and their families. From outreach across Meaford, Collingwood, Owen Sound, and surrounding areas to in-house programs, we connect families with the resources, services, and support they need.

About the Role

As the Family Navigator, you will provide employment and educational supports to new and current military families in our area. You will forge and strengthen relationships with our community partners to ensure our families are getting a helpful, professional experience that extends beyond our Centre. You will ensure the latest, accurate information is available through our social media resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Connect families with community programs, services, and supports
• Assist families in navigating education, employment, and health resources
• Maintain regular contact with families and identify emerging needs
• Support family engagement through events, workshops, and outreach initiatives
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
• Maintain social media pages and our CFMWS webpage
• Create and maintain literature to inform families of our services
• Outreach activities within Meaford and surrounding communities
• Participate in events that improve sense of community

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in social services, administration, or humanity fields; or equivalent in-work experience
• Demonstratable knowledge in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel
• Demonstratable experience working with social media platforms
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of community resources and services in Grey-Bruce and surrounding areas
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate cultural sensitivity
• Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
• Experience working with children is an asset
• Knowledge of Canva is an asset

Position Details

• Hours: 37.5 hours/week, permanent full-time

Through outreach to the communities that our families live (Meaford, Collingwood, Owen Sound and areas in between) to in-house programs, we strive to be a reliable resource dedicated to supporting the quality of life of military families. 

You can find us on the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre, located approximately 10km to the northwest of the town of Meaford.
