Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Customer Service/Finance Representative who is passionate about providing exceptional service and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This role involves assisting customers with their building supply needs through daily interactions in person, over the phone, and via email. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with customers while supporting sales and finance functions, with additional support to dispatch as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process sales orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance loyalty and repeat business.
  • Assist Outside Sales Reps with job quoting and administrative support.
  • Engage in business development by contacting dormant accounts to promote products and services.
  • Develop a solid understanding of our product offerings to provide expert guidance to customers.
  • Handle customer objections and provide solutions to meet their needs.
  • Clearly communicate product/service benefits, pricing, and credit terms, and prepare relevant documentation (sales orders, reports, etc.).
  • Manage store administration, including invoicing, inventory accuracy, and cycle counting.
  • Oversee open document management, including purchase orders (POs), sales orders (SOs), transfers, and credits.
  • Ensure timely and professional communication of issues and successes with management.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, maintaining professionalism with both customers and colleagues.
  • Process daily transactions and payables related to the location.
  • Perform A/R duties in respect to overdue accounts in tandem with Sales.
  • Filing and keeping accurate records up to date.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Dispatch Key Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate the delivery team.
  • Tracking and communicating delivery information to operations, warehouse, delivery teams and customers.
  • Work with other team members to ensure delivery success.
  • Inventory management.
  • Document and report on required metrics and activities.
  • Communicate issues and successes to superiors in a timely manner.
  • Communicate all information and instructions respectfully.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks in the warehouse when needed.
  • Assist with deliveries at job sites when needed.
  • Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
  • Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Secondary education in business, commerce, supply chain management, management, or equivalent experience and on the job training.
  • Valid forklift certification and experience are required.
  • Minimum of a valid G-class license with a good driving record – DZ class is preferred
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Strong team player with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in the building materials industry is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate industry-related software and tools.
  • Ability to manage pressure, meet deadlines, and handle customer demands efficiently.
