Corporate Services Facilitator
Contract Full-Time – 12 months

The City of Owen Sound is seeking a motivated professional for the Corporate Services Facilitator position. The Corporate Services Facilitator serves as the first point of contact for public inquiries and plays a critical role in delivering accurate, responsive, and solution-focused customer service across all Corporate Services functions. In addition to managing incoming calls and supporting the front counter, this role provides administrative support to the Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Clerk Services, Purchasing, Facilities, Risk Management, and By-law divisions.

 

The Corporate Services Facilitator is responsible for coordinating and supporting department-wide initiatives, including software implementations, process improvements, and special projects. This role also assists with a range of clerical and financial tasks, including billing support, account maintenance and website updates. This position requires strong communication, organizational, and independent problem-solving skills, and plays a key role in ensuring internal service efficiency and ratepayer satisfaction

The successful candidate will have a college diploma or equivalent education and experience. A degree or diploma in Business or Public Administration or a related field is considered an asset. A minimum of three (3) years in an office setting is required. Customer Service experience in a multi-faceted organization an asset.

 

Skills and Competencies at the working level:

  • Possesses advanced computer skills, demonstrating expertise beyond standard proficiency, including adept use of various software applications and digital tools.
  • Must be capable of working on own initiative, handle responsibilities with limited supervision
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Project a pleasant, courteous and diplomatic image when dealing with staff and the public. Demonstrate professional judgement and political acumen
  • Must be capable of keeping confidential information of other City employees and information pertaining to the Department and City affairs including, but not limited to, Union Agreements, Performance Appraisals, disciplinary matters and capital and operating budget projections.
  • Experience with municipal enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and recreation software, including Great Plains and Xplor Recreation is an asset.
  • Experience working with customer-facing enterprise applications and implementing technology solutions to improve efficiency and/or service levels.
  • Problem-solving skills, discretion and good judgement when handling confidential/sensitive information and communicating with individuals.
