Job Description

Electrical Contacts Limited is looking for a CNC Operator to join their team! The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC machinery. The candidate will assist with setting up machine parts and tools, maintain the machines, build programs to better assist production, and use experienced programming skills to help operate the machines. Maintaining equipment, adhering to quality and safety standards, and keeping detailed part records are some of the core responsibilities of a CNC operator. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

 

THE ROLE

The ideal candidate will possess a sound mechanical aptitude, enjoy working with their hands and be a positive, energetic self-starter with a keen desire to expand their knowledge and skills. Candidates are expected to be competent in the use of basic hand tools and be capable of continuous physical activity in a fast-paced factory setting.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling etc.
  • Following provided production schedules and working with supplied documentation to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of materials to and from the machining center
  • Prepare and load raw materials into the CNC machines.
  • Supervise CNC machines during production and adjust as necessary to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose common CNC problems, consulting with manufacturer as necessary
  • Programming and operating CNC machines to produce components.
  • Maintenance of CNC equipment to ensure safe and efficient long-term performance.

 

EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:

  • Recent production experience running a CNC machining center.
  • Operating CNC milling machines based on job specifications. May include writing programs to accomplish various machining operations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with related material handling equipment.
  • Interest and ability to work with both computer software and fabrication equipment.
  • Use of other general hand and power tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ability to maintain and promote a positive attitude, teamwork, and cooperation.

Schedule:

  • Nights: Sunday – Thursday, 11pm – 7:30am.
  • Full-Time, Permanent
