Are you looking for full-time job experience during the peak of summer? Meaford MFRC Child Care is offering a position to assist our excellent teachers in educating young minds. As a Summer Child Program Assistant, you will assist with team teaching toddlers and preschoolers within a classroom setting.

Some responsibilities in this position:

• Follow and implement all our Centre’s policies and procedures.
• Support a daily balance of active or quiet, indoor or outdoor, individual or group activities.
• Ensure toys and the child’s environment are properly cleaned and safe.
• Assist children in proper eating and toileting habits.
• Observe and communicate needs and interests of child through written and verbal communication.
• Help the lead teacher to plan and implement educationally appropriate content while meeting a child’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

What we would like to see from you:

• Experience looking after children up to the age of 6.
• The ability to obtain up-to-date immunization records.
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• The ability to bend, kneel and lift up to 30 pounds.
• An outgoing personality suitable for teaching and caring for children.
• Must be 18 years of age to work at our Centre, up to age 30 and a citizen or permanent resident of Canada per the Canada Summer Jobs program.

• Guaranteed full-time hours, 35 hours per week
• $20.50/hour
• Weekends! (we are only open Monday – Friday)

This position will start Monday, June 29 and run for 8 consecutive weeks from the start date.

The Military Family Resource Centre Meaford is a non-profit, registered charity that provides assistance to CAF families. Through outreach to the communities that our families live (Meaford, Collingwood, Owen Sound and areas in between) to in-house programs, we strive to be a reliable resource dedicated to supporting the quality of life of military families. 

You can find us on the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre, located approximately 10km to the northwest of the town of Meaford.
