Our client, SPI Plastics Inc. (“SPI”), located in Shallow Lake, is currently seeking a high-energy, self-motivated, and dedicated individual to join their team as an Assembly Operator. Selected candidates will be required to manufacture and produce a wide variety of plastic products. Day shift only Monday to Friday. No nights or weekends!

About The Role
Working at the production facility located in Shallow Lake ON, workers will be assisting in the assembly, inspection, and finishing of plastics products on the tube slide assembly line. With a focus on safety, workers will also help to ensure the high level of quality for which SPI are known. Effective problem solving, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and an eye for detail will be the keys to success in this role. Other tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Selecting & Setting Up All Necessary Tools & Equipment Including Jig Saw, Skill Saw, Drill, Impact, Routers, Riveting Machines, Staple Guns, Torches, etc.
- Performing Preparations for Assembly of Products by Cleaning & Inspecting the Parts to be Assembled
- Operating Equipment & Machines Accordingly to Specific Operational & Safety Instructions
- Assembling Raw Products into Finish Goods by Performing Various Operations Including Material Moving & Stocking, Cutting, Drilling, Bolting Product Together, Chain Cutting, Rope Burning, Riveting Brackets, Packing, etc.
- Inspecting The Finished Product to Ensure Adherence to Product Standards & Customer Expectations
- Following Production Plans, Sales Orders, Blueprints, Packing Slips, Verbal Instructions & Other Forms of Instructions to Meet Delivery Expectations
- Additional Duties as Required
Requirements
- Demonstrated Experience & Ability Using Hand Tools
- Ability To Work in a Warm Environment
- Physically Capable to Perform Required Tasks – Lifting Upwards of 50 Lbs.
- Following All Safety Instructions (Including Requests for Team Lifts Exceeding 40 Lbs.)
- Performing Simple Math Calculations, Including Making Measurements with Measuring Tape
