· Oversee the maintenance and operation of the building, grounds, and all facility systems
· Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs
· Coordinate repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
· Coordinate external contractors
· Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations
· Manage maintenance records and inventory of supplies and equipment
· Coordinate inspections, testing, and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security systems
· Respond to emergency maintenance issues and participate in on call if/when required
· Collaborate with leadership to support organizational goals and operations needs
· Promote a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement
· Maintains and repairs clinic equipment as assigned
· Cleaning of equipment and assigned spaces including public areas, washrooms, showers, kitchen, meeting and waiting areas
· Perform assigned out door landscape maintenance including sidewalk snow and ice removal, lawn and parking area maintenance
Qualifications and Requirements
· Post secondary education in Facilities Management, building systems, engineering technology or a related field is preferred. Relevant electrical and mechanical trade courses and/or manufacturer training or approved equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset
· Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
· 3-5 years recently demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, operation, maintenance and repair of complex building systems and equipment
· General knowledge of other building trades and ability to work with hand and power tools to perform a variety of tasks
· Ability and willingness to continually upgrade technical skills
· Ability to work from oral or written instruction under minimum supervision
· Excellent troubleshooting, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
· Committed to health and safety programs and continuous quality improvement
· Ability to wear personal protective equipment, perform physical indoor and outdoor tasks, and work at elevated heights and in confined spaces
· Availability for on-call, standby, and flexibility in hours of work
· Valid Driver’s License and use of vehicle to travel to other CHC sites, as required with appropriate insurance
· Recent satisfactory attendance and performance records
· Current Police Check with Vulnerable Sectors Screen
· Double vaccinated with a Canadian recognized COVID vaccine.
