Job Description
We are looking for a youth to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks.
The Intersections Coordinator will be responsible for organizing volunteers, planning and executing programs, maintaining the facility, program development, proposal development and building relationships within the community.
The ideal candidate for this role should have strong leadership skills, a passion for service to others, excellent communication abilities and some knowledge of wood working.
Responsibilities
Coordinates daily operations of Intersections, including working with the Board, organizing and working with volunteers, meeting and greeting drop in visitors, overseeing Summer programs, and regular upkeep of the shop.
Maintain budget and tracking of expenditures.
Plan and execute educational woodworking programs for children, youth and seniors during the Summer months.
Ensure Board and organizational policies and practices are followed
Maintain a safe and clean facility
Support and assist Instructors and volunteers who are teaching and helping with Summer programs.
Develop partnerships with local organizations and businesses. Liaises with parents and workshop participants.
Respond to concerns or issues from community members in a timely and respectful manner.
Monitor and report on centre usage and program effectiveness.
Represent Intersections at community meetings or events.
Ensure compliance with all local and federal regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in nonprofit management or a nonprofit work environment.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Experience in planning and executing community programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office.
Ability to work with diversity and different cultures.
The youth in the Centre Coordinator position will have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, program management skills and communication skills in a supportive environment.
Specifically there will be opportunities to use and enhance technology and digital skills through out the Summer as a number of our Board members and volunteers have advanced proficiency in technology and computer programs. Intersections is keenly interested in the potential of AI to assist us in day to day administrative tasks, possibly marketing, programming and bookkeeping. The Centre Coordinator will be supported, mentored and encouraged to explore and utilize AI in carrying out their responsibilities.
