Skilled Landscape Crew Lead

Under the supervision of the Property Manager (PM) and the Golf Course Superintendent (GCS) the Skilled Landscape Crew Lead will

Duties and responsibilities

• Be responsible for assisting with a variety of tasks related to hard and soft landscaping
• Work as part of the Landscape Construction team on existing residents’ homes, new builds and property lands to the standards of the Cobble Beach Landscape Department.
• Perform any other work related duties required on the Cobble Beach property and/or the golf course as directed by management
• Occasionally assist other Turf Departments within Cobble Beach – i.e. the golf course and the horticultural team when and where needed

• Follow direction from the APM and efficiently carry out tasks such as:
• Site preparation (demo, layout, excavation etc.)
• Hard landscaping (retaining walls, interlock/natural stone – driveways, patios, porches & walkways etc.)
• Soft Landscaping (planting, mulching, sodding etc.)
• Equipment/Truck’s Maintenance (daily cleaning/greasing/fueling)
• Operate various tools and equipment, including: plate tampers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, rakes, hammers, drills, tractors, skid steers, loaders, super tilt trailers etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
• Assist with loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment required to complete projects
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and comply with all company policies, procedures and regulations. Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations.
• Preparation of the next day’s work setup
• Assist in daily record keeping and work orders
• Assist in shop organization and cleanliness

Qualifications

• Above all else, have integrity, respect, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn each day
• Thrive working independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented department
• Previous golf course or property maintenance experience is an asset, but not a requirement
• Detail-oriented and able to work with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
• Can meet the physical demands of the job
• CSA Approved steel toe work shoes/boots and professional appearance
• Transportation to and from work daily is mandatory

Working conditions

• This position requires you to work outside in varying weather conditions. This position requires you to work Monday-Friday, early mornings, some weekends, and some statutory holidays.

Physical requirements

• Working on your feet for 8-10 hours
• Ability to lift approx. 50 lbs
• Repetitive tasks
