The City of Owen Sound is seeking motivated candidates to fill the roles of Election Officials for the 2026 Municipal Election. Under the guidance of the City Clerk, these positions provide a professional front line point of contact for all visitors to Election Centres, responding to the public’s inquiries and service requests in a professional manner and in accordance with legislation and the procedures set out by the City Clerk. These positions are being posted for a temporary contract to assist with the 2026 Municipal Election.
The successful candidates will have a high school diploma. Previous experience with municipal, provincial, or federal elections, as well as experience providing customer service and data management are considered assets. Additional skills required include excellent verbal and written, communication, intermediate to advanced computer skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
The dates of employment are October 16 to October 26, 2026 and a full day of training on October 7, 2026. The wage rate for this position is $28.00/hr. Election Officials will work between 30 and 40 hours during the employment period and may not be scheduled every day. The work location may vary throughout the dates of employment.
