Program/Dept: Native Child Welfare
Reports To: Family Services Supervisor
Type of Employment: Full-time permanent
Wage: $22.66 – $28.18 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Closing Date: Monday, March 23, 2026 4:00pm EST
The Right to play program is designed to develop young leaders (ages 10 – 30 years) and empower them to creative positive change. The Community mentor will be trained to facilitate the Youth Leadership Program modules, as well as holding responsibility for implementing the Right to Play Leadership Program; design and implement the PLAY After School Program.
Qualifications
- Minimum of College Diplomas in any of the following areas (Community Services; Child & Youth Worker; Recreation & Leisure; Social Services Worker; ECE, Business – Human Resources; Office Administration); Aboriginal specific programs (community advocacy, education, family and child services) or equivalent community experience.
- Two (2) – three (3) years’ experience working with youth and children in recreation, arts and cultural programming.
- Two (2) – three (3) years’ experience in coordinating large events for 59+ people
- One (1) – two (2) years’ facilitating workshops for groups of 10 or more
- Must submit current Criminal Record Check and CAS background checks
- Use of Microsoft and computer programs, internet, email
- Ability to manage budgets, complete reports, collect data and program statistics
- Valid Ontario Driver’s G Licence, and access to transportation (Preference is an “F” licence)
