Lead Carpenter / Lead Hand wanted for residential construction projects in Grey Highlands and the surrounding area.
- $34–$36 per hour depending on experience
- Monday – Friday schedule (44 hour typical work week)
- Two weeks vacation (4% vacation pay accrued)

Role
This is a working leadership position. The Lead Carpenter / Lead Hand will be on the tools while leading the crew on site and coordinating the day-to-day work required to keep projects moving efficiently.
The Lead Carpenter works closely with our Project Coordinator to keep projects organized, communicate job site needs, and coordinate details as required.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day work on residential construction projects
- Work on the tools alongside the crew
- Plan and organize daily work to keep the project progressing efficiently
- Maintain an organized and safe job site
- Ensure work meets company quality standards and building code requirements
- Mentor apprentices and support crew development
- Communicate regularly with the Project Coordinator regarding job progress, site needs, and upcoming work
- Help prepare the site for upcoming phases of construction and materials
- Take job site photos to document project progress
- Use the company construction management software to review project information and record site updates

Qualifications
- Strong residential carpentry experience
- Ability to read and work from plans
- Experience leading or organizing work on job sites
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Pride in craftsmanship and job site organization
Requirements
- Valid Working at Heights certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must be comfortable working at heights and on ladders or roofs when required
- Tool belt and basic hand tools required, including tape measure, speed square, chalk line, and hammer
- CSA-approved steel toe boots required
- Valid driver’s license
This role is best suited for an experienced carpenter who is comfortable leading a job site and coordinating work with a small crew.
