Job Description
Reporting to the Grey Sauble Conservation Operations Manager, the Trails & Forest Crew Member role is to assist trail inspections using a mobile app, complete basic trail maintenance, and assist with the removal of invasive species such as buckthorn. The role also includes light office duties like data entry and organizing inspection records to support Grey County’s trail and natural area stewardship.
This position will include, but is not limited to:
- Conducting and assisting with trail inspections using a mobile app.
- Performing basic trail maintenance tasks including sign installations on Grey County properties
- Assisting with the removal of invasive species with a focus on Buckthorn
- Completing light office duties such as data entry, mapping, and organizing inspection records
Skills and Experience:
- Education: Secondary school graduation or related job experience
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of trail maintenance, able to identify or learn common invasive species, including buckthorn, comfortable using technology for inspections and data entry and general maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License with clean driving abstract.
- Ability to safely operate equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Standard First Aid required
Working conditions:
- Mainly in outdoor settings with some inside work.
- Occasional inclement weather conditions.
Full Time: (35 hours per week) Condensed four-day work week.
Employment: May – August 2026
Wage: $17.60/hour
