Job Description
The Sheet Metal Worker will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal and ductwork for HVAC systems in residential and commercial settings. The ideal candidate can work independently with minimal supervision and has a strong understanding of industry standards and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components and duct systems
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using appropriate tools and equipment
- Install and assist with HVAC systems, including ductwork, air handlers, and ventilation components
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation
- Complete work efficiently and maintain high-quality craftsmanship
- Work safely and follow all company and jobsite safety policies and procedures
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
Qualifications
- Licensed Sheet Metal Worker or Registered Sheet Metal Apprentice (3rd–5th year preferred, but all levels considered)
- Experience in residential or commercial HVAC installation is an asset
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks required for installation work
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
