Job Description
The CNUFN Board of Education is seeking a dedicated Educational Assistant to support teachers and students at Kikendaasogamig Elementary School. The successful candidate will assist in classroom instruction, provide one-on-one student support, and help create a safe and engaging learning environment. A strong understanding of Anishinaabe heritage and a commitment to promoting Anishinaabemowin, culture, and traditions are essential. Duties include assisting with lesson delivery, supervising students, maintaining records, and participating in school activities and professional development. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, professional, and a positive role model who prioritizes the well-being and success of students. Qualifications:
• Graduate of a Community College program in Education/Teaching Assistance or an equivalent field; and/or an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with current enrollment in a related program, or demonstrated successful experience in related positions (e.g., Early Childhood Education, Tutor, etc.)
• Current, practical knowledge of IPRC (Identification, Placement, and Review Committee) policies, procedures, and requirements to support effective service delivery in First Nation Education
• Solid understanding of First Nation Education issues, community dynamics, and culturally responsive education practices
