Job Description

Our client, Lallemand Bio-Ingredients, is looking for a Full-Time Production Operator to join their team at their busy plant location in Tara, ON. The selected candidate will work across a range of departments including packaging, mixing, drying and evaporation. This is a temporary full-time role with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. Rotating shift schedule with wage starting at $27.48 per hour.

About The Role

The Production Team Member will oversee a variety of tasks across numerous departments and may include equipment monitoring, sanitation, quality control, packaging, and food defense. Candidates must be medically cleared to wear a respirator (training provided) and pass a criminal background check. Other duties may include:

  • Managing & monitoring critical control points & filters for drying operation
  • Loading & unloading of trucks, including liquid yeast tankers
  • Performing analysis & quality control of in-process product samples
  • Creating, verifying, packaging & labeling product for internal & external purposes
  • Inputting data into several production, quality & sanitation logs
  • Adhering labels for small packaging for repack lines as needed
  • Performing shipping & receiving duties, including wrapping pallets & loading cargo
  • Using forklift to transport product from production to storage/shipping areas
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualification & Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or similar equivalent
  • Must be able to work wearing a half-face mask respirator (training provided)
  • Physically able to lift and stack up to 25 kg on a continual basis
  • Physically able to climb platforms ladders reaching max height upwards of 10 feet
  • Attention to detail while maintaining a steady pace
  • Proficient with multi-tasking within both an individual & team-based environment
  • Able to work in large-sized confined spaces (weekly cleaning inside dryer & filter baghouse)
  • Ability & experience operating lift truck (with valid forklift license considered an asset)
