Join the City of Owen Sound team as an Arena Labourer. Contribute to the daily maintenance and cleanliness of our recreation facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for all users. This position requires dedication to upholding high standards of safety and customer service. The position is expected to work between 16 and 32 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning and general maintenance of two recreation facilities.
- Assist in event setup and teardown; ensure smooth operation of all events.
- Assist with on-ice duties during resurfacing
- Provide exceptional customer service to facility patrons.
- Follow and enforce health and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in facility maintenance, particularly in municipal or public settings, is an asset.
- Certifications:
- Standard First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, Fire Extinguisher training (or willingness to obtain).
- Core Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Independent work management with attention to detail
- Knowledge of facility operation regulations and compliance
- Valid Class “G” driver’s license
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical skills (an asset)
- Proficient in time management and adaptable to varied tasks
Salary Range: $20.29- $23.06 hourly
