In this position you will:
• provide quality customer services in person, virtually and by phone; by providing timely and accurate information related to government programs, products and services in a retail and customer service-oriented environment
• greet and assist customers with a friendly smile
• process applications and renewals
• provide information about government services
• collect payments and issue receipts
• answer customer questions
• stay informed about policies and products

What you bring to the team

Exceptional customer service must have:

Customer focus to provide optimum service, explain information and meet customer needs and resolve customer inquiries and find solutions resulting in a positive customer experience.
Effective communication to explain guidelines and procedures, respond to customer questions, write concise correspondence, apply judgment, tact, empathy and patience to meet customer needs.
Thinking skills to probe for information, assess situations, and determine customer needs, and take appropriate actions.
Math skills to handle cash, operate cash register and point of sale machines to process transactions
Computer proficiency and ability to use Microsoft Office, database programs, and operation of specialized equipment.
Team collaboration to work well with colleagues in a team environment.

In this role you will be compensated, in addition to your salary a follows:
• 5% of gross pay in lieu of statutory holidays
• 5.75% of gross pay in lieu of vacation
• supplementary Health and Hospital (SH&H) Plan (which includes vision care and hearing aid benefits), Dental Plan, and Basic Life Insurance Plan.
• accrual of attendance credits at the rate of 1.25 days per calendar month of full attendance to be used in the event that an employee is unable to attend to work for reason of illness or injury
• you may, at your expense, participate in the OPSEU Pension Plan
