Job Description: The Museum Assistant helps to facilitate the museum’s operations. They provide customer service and deliver programs for museum patrons. The successful candidate can work independently and as part of team and shows initiative in carrying out the duties of this position.
Eligibility/Qualifications:
- Age 15 to 30 years old
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Weekend availability is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Provide visitor services for museum patrons
- Interpret museum exhibits and displays for visitors
- Handle transactions for donations, gift shop sales, etc.
- Assist with researching and developing program and exhibits
- Assist with managing the museum’s collection (artifact cataloging, handling, storage)
- Assist with special events, programs, and fundraising activities
- Other duties as required
