1)Come into the Family YMCA Employment Resource Centre and complete a resume or fill out a Participant Information Form. This form allows us to put your name in a database so that when employers contact us looking for students, we run off a list of names and give them to the employer. 2) Check the Student Job Bank on our website for employers hiring students. www.ymcaowensound.on.ca You can do this by clicking on Community & Employment Services, put the cursor on Employment and scroll down to Summer Job Service and click on Summer Job Bank. Other student job banks are available as well. www.jobbank.gc.ca
3) You could take your resume to employers directly. Start by approaching businesses that you like to shop in. You be familiar with these businesses and that makes it easier to approach them. Remember to be dressed appropriately and practice what you are going to say before you get there.
