Vancouver to St. John's in support of YMCA Strong Kids

15/08/12

7,200km in 28 days

Don Patterson, a Mississauga Y member and long-time supporter of the YMCA and its mission in building healthy communities, recently completed his summer cycle across Canada in support of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.

Don believes that we all have a role to play in improving the health of kids in Canada, and that each of us has the ability to nurture and encourage these children. Don began his journey on June 26th and rode an average of 250km per day, traveling across our great county.

During his ride, he learned how incredibly welcoming and generous Canadians are, how beautiful our country is, and how if we work together, we really can have a positive impact on the health of Canadians. Don is passionate about local YMCAs and what they are doing in their communities.

Don chronicled his ride on his blog; providing updates, photos and highlights of his cross country journey. Check it out here!

CBC Live Right Now, a partner of the YMCA has also posted a story about Don's journey - "This Man Has a Purpose"

Don is passionate about the health of Canadians, the YMCA and how we can work together to build healthy communities. He is an inspiration to us all. If you would like to support Don in his quest to raise funds for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, click here to donate online.

Your donation will remain in Grey and Bruce, helping to ensure that everyone in our community can participate in Y programs.
