Special Olympics Swim Team
Working in partnership with the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce, the swim team is the largest Special Olympics Swim Team in Ontario. The program is designed for individuals with mental and physical disabilities. The group uses the water to improve coordination, mobility and endurance, but most of all, to have fun!
School-Age and Adult swimmers have the opportunity to participate in regional meets. An accessible change area with an overhead sling and adjustable table, accessible showering facilities, pool entry ramps and aquatic wheelchairs are available to help swimmers into the pool if needed.
Levels
- Adapted 1 & 2 (non-swimmers who need one-on-one assistance due to their level of ability)
